Very nice, clean and large hotel with a great breakfast option. The rooms are a tad small, but normal for Tokyo, but the bathrooms are a great size especially the shower. The bed was extremely comfortable and the rooms were cleaned daily. The staff were very pleasant and helpful whenever asked.

The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!
Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Center near the waterfront, and savor the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.
Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.
For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Outdoor markets sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.
Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

I thought it would be a big, noisy, busy city so only allowed 3 nights. So sorry I didn't have more time. If I'd known I would have cut Osaka short (it was like the Gold Coast on steroids) and spent more time in Tokyo and Kyoto. It was remarkably quiet for a city that size - people don't talk loudly, elevators have a muted ding, even ambulances seem to be quieter. I never once heard a phone ring when travelling on the trains/subway. The streets are all super clean (you have to take a little bag with you for any rubbish - there are no public rubbish bins available anywhere). All signs are in english and the politeness of japanese people made getting around quite easy - not too many people offered to help but if asked, and they could understand english, they were quite happy to provide some guidance. I felt completely safe walking and taking the subways and trains in Japan, and after a few goes was very comfortable purchasing tickets and making train transfers. There are a lot of steps to navigate when using trains/subways (you can usually find escalator or lift). People watching in Harajuku is a must. And a visit to the big department stores food hall is amazing. The streets of Tokyo are lined with beautiful green trees - so pleasant to just walk around. The Tea House at the Tokyo National Museum was a great experience and just wondering the grounds was so peaceful and relaxing. Wish I had more time to just wander aimlessly in different areas of Tokyo and take it all in.

A visit to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building was excellent ... and free. The volunteer guides were fantastic and full of information about the city and the building. The view from the top was panoramic.
We found most people were willing to help ... directions, transport, menus, etc, even when their English was limited.

We ended up in Tokyo after two and a half weeks travelling around Japan and a six day walk.
The city is huge , but in keeping with the rest of Kapan, clean and efficient. People friendly and helpful always . We visited Without borders ( digital art museum ) which was stunning. Also ARTIZON which curated modern Japanese and European art. Good choice of food and shopping is superbe! We only had two full days but enjoyed every moment.

Tokyo is a big city and therefore attracts big city prices and tourists. We did the usual touristy stops in Shibuya and Harajuku. It was extremely busy so decided to drop into Shinjuku instead which was less busy. Booked tickets for the WB Making of Harry Potter tour which exceeded expectations. Highly recommend! Ueno Park is worth a stop. Also stayed in Akihabara (Electric Town) worth a look if you are into Anime/Manga. Food is excellent in Tokyo. Used both JR rail passes and Suica for local trains. Highly recommend checking out Minato Mirae in Yokohama, there is excellent shopping, roller coaster, cable cars, Cup Noodle Museum and more. 45 mins - 1 hour on JR line from Tokyo (Akihabara/Ochanimizu stations).

World class city with too much to see in just one trip.
World class city with too much to see in just one trip.
Food culture up there with London and Paris, perhaps even better in terms of quality and price. I would avoid Shibuya Crossing area as it is touristy and very crowded like Times Square unless you like that sort of thing. Things to recommend: Ginza, Ueno, Shinjuku, Roppongi, Team Labs, day trips to the countryside and food just about anywhere.
Location is great and safe. 3 metro stations nearby make it easy to reach everywhere in reasonable time. E.g. Ginza, Tokyo station and Tsujiki are around 15 mins, Ueno and Asakusa are within 20 mins and Shinjuku & Shibuya is around 30 mins. Convenient stores, restaurants and drug stores are in walking distance. The hotel provides amenities and facilities we may need when traveling, which is super sweet. Services are great, the front desk is very helpful with the guest's requirements.
Room is not spacious but equipped with everything.
The location was good. Over a park, a shirt walk away from an area of restaurants and bars and also a subway. Not too far from the main Shinjuku station, maybe 20 minutes or so.
The room itself was clean, a high floor with a full sized double bed that was comfortable. I did feel that we maybe slightly overpaid for the room compared to other hotels on our trip. It felt quite basic.
The hotel features are nice, with a swanky lobby all geared around co working and mixed use, then a nice moodily lit breakfast/bar space.
Great location near Hamamatsucho station with access to the Tokyo Monorail (for Haneda Airport), Yamanote line (for access to Shibuya, Shinjuku, Ikebukuro, Ueno, and more). Daimon station is also very close by with access to Shinjuku, Asakusa, and the Skytree. Within walking distance to Tokyo Tower as well
Rooms are compact but that is typical for Japanese hotels, they are very comfortable though and have all the facilities that you’d expect
Staff were very friendly and happy to help out
The hotel had a fantastic location, not too close to the busiest areas of Tokyo like Shibuya or Shinjuku and not so far that travel would be a hassle. I had a fantastic experience at the hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful and the living areas were exceptionally clean. There's a 7-11 right opposite the hotel so you have nothing to worry if you need anything 24x7. This place exceeded my expectations and I'm considering to stay here again when I visit Tokyo in the future!
Gotanda is one of the best places to stay in Tokyo in my opinion. The hotel is on the Yamanote line, it is centrally located with easy access to Shinagawa, Meguro, Ebisu and you can get to Shibuya and Shinjuku and other hubs easily. Property is right next to the train station and there are lovely restaurants, shops and bars close by.
Staff were excellent and very professional and helpful.
A cab ride to Haneda is less jan ¥7000 if you have an early flight.
We chose to have single rooms which after a long flight meant better sleeping for all of our family members. The single rooms are small, but reasonable, the bed is hard - which I don't like, but my husband does - but a good size. The staff were very helpful, especially considering our lack of Japanese. Close to the Tokyo Station. Very clean. I'd describe this hotel as a business hotel, one where businesspeople stay over night when in Tokyo for work.
Very convenient for the haneda airport limousine. Not very convenient for travel into many of the parts of Tokyo, but I enjoyed Odaiba, Harajuku & Shibuya with travel times of around an hour. I was extremely impressed by the cleanliness & interior design of the location. In terms of modern hotels, it was the most beautiful I stayed at during my trip. The staff was also extremely kind and helpful.
Hotel Royal Park is the BEST HOTEL of all the hotels and place that we stayed in !!💜❤️♥️. It’s in between of everything , trains station, restaurants, coffee shops , hotels … you name everything is within our reach!! LOVE LOVE IT 😍. I think when going back to Tokyo for weekend get away… Royal park hotel is the kind of hotel that you want to keep going back to stay in .
great places to stay in SHIBUYA, just 5-7 minutes walk to Shibuya Crossing and Shibuya Station; the room is super clean and the bed are comfy for a long day strolling in Tokyo. The drinking water are free to refill and you can do your laundry as well, Great Job All Day Shibuya for new comers hotels since 2021
Great location in a quiet area of Tokyo - away from all the noise and bright lights of Shibuya and Shinjuku. Easy access to all the places I wanted to visit. Room has plenty of space compared to typical hotel however, you need to be comfortable with Japanese style sitting on the floor (eg, no chairs or sofa).
The room was always well kept. Location was fantastic, perfectly located 5 minutes from the nearest train station and an easy train ride to anywhere in Tokyo. We spent a time in Akihabara, Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, and many other neighborhoods in Tokyo, and the location of the hotel made traveling a breeze.
Very confient, the location of the hotel is perfect! Just a small walk from Shibuya Station and the center of Shibuya.
De hotel staff is very helpful and is super friendly. Clean towels every day, and the capsules were comfortable.
Overall, it was a good stay!
Clean and quiet. This was the best value I found in Tokyo. We did not want to stay in tiny capsule hotels. You are a bus ride away from the Shibuya station. From there you can go anywhere. The owner is friendly. We were happy with our stay.
It was beautifully located if you like a walk and the beauty of the park, but after a full day of sightseeing, it’s a bit of a walk back to the hotel. For a first time traveller to Japan, I’d stay closer to the Shinjuku Rail.
My Husband and I stayed here for our trip to Tokyo. The hotel is conveniently located, a quick walk to shopping and dining options. It’s also a quick walk to the Senso Ji temple and Asakusa train station. We enjoyed our stay.
My room included use of the onsen. I had never experienced this before. It was a wonderful experience. My husband and I enjoyed our Japan vacation very much. This hotel was a great place to conclude our trip.
Excellent location right beside Ueno Park. Metro station right beside the hotel. Price was the most affordable double bed room in Tokyo that is not a capsule or a hostel.
Great capsule hotel in a quiet location in Shinjuku. Close to everything, great staff, comfy private, quiet space with good shared spaces and breakfast.
