The capital of Japan, Tokyo is a vast, teeming metropolis nestled between mountains and Tokyo Bay. It’s so huge that you’ll have to come to grips with public transport and maybe even experience being pushed onto a train. Yes, it does actually happen!
Get your bearings by ascending the Tokyo World Trade Centre near the waterfront, and savour the fantastic views taking in the red-and-white Tokyo Tower and Shinkuju’s skyscrapers. North is Ueno, home to the best museums (including the Tokyo National Museum) and a large park bursting with cherry blossom in spring.
Equally tranquil are the Chiyoda Imperial Palace and Gardens, surrounded by water. Also in gardens is the Meiji Jingu Shinto shrine in Shibuya, a youthful district where neon abounds.
For more traditional Japanese culture, head to Asakusa whose Sensō-ji Buddhist temple is Tokyo’s oldest temple. Markets in the grounds sell a variety of wares, though shopping in Tokyo is, of course, fantastic wherever you go.
Whether you stay in a Japanese ryokan, luxury Tokyo hotel or a hostel, don’t fly out of Tokyo Narita Airport or Haneda Airport without having tried sushi. Another Japanese institution is the sento (public bath) and onsen (hot springs bath) – a must try. Also incredibly popular are Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea, Asia’s 2 most visited theme parks.

This was our 3rd trip to Tokyo, and we look forward to going back. There are so many different areas with their unique experiences and atmosphere - something for everyone. We stayed in Ginza, Shibuya, Odaiba, and Roppongi. It is NOT expensive! Food is easy to find in all price ranges and types: we enjoyed ramen, sushi, Indian, fast food, Italian…and there was more to choose from. Lodging can also be in all price ranges - and while the reasonable hotels may have smaller rooms - in our experience they are clean, comfortable, and have good service. Transportation is also inexpensive and easy to navigate with Google maps, and also by looking at maps in the stations. USE the luggage transport companies! Dragging luggage in the streets or in train stations is not fun.
So, in short - a mix of old and new. Something for everyone. Easy, inexpensive transportation. Food of all types in all price ranges. Lodging of all types and price ranges. Friendly respectful people. Love it there!

We have been twice in Tokyo, each time approx. 4 days and we are hoping to go back. There are so many options for shopping, eating, cultural activities, and short trips outside the city for more outdoor experiences.
The transportation system is very organized, we had no problem finding our way and although the city is big and has a large population, we found people very friendly.
Tokyo, like the whole country, is very clean and in general we felt very satisfied with our stay.

A unique experience of a man-made super city.
From high-rise mega-districts, to ancient parks and shrines, Tokyo has lots to see, do, explore, and taste.
For the casual traveller, it's a unique place to visit.
For those interested in Japan, don't delay, finally go like you've always planned, it is breath-taking.
I have done 8 days total now in Tokyo, and feel like I have just scratched the surface.

Fantastic city to travel about.
Fantastic city to travel about. Lots of places and sights to see. A bit inconvenient that most of the museums are closed on Mondays. Clean and organised infrastructure. As always a great pleasure travelling in this country.

That was a short overnight stay, but this is not the first time we have visited this city. We had a nice soba dinner with a local friend and took a small walk near Marunouchi. We will be back again for sure.
Location is great and safe. 3 metro stations nearby make it easy to reach everywhere in reasonable time. E.g. Ginza, Tokyo station and Tsujiki are around 15 mins, Ueno and Asakusa are within 20 mins and Shinjuku & Shibuya is around 30 mins. Convenient stores, restaurants and drug stores are in walking distance. The hotel provides amenities and facilities we may need when traveling, which is super sweet. Services are great, the front desk is very helpful with the guest's requirements.
Room is not spacious but equipped with everything.
Second mimaru property we stayed at in Tokyo. We really liked the last one (Ueno east) but liked this even more. The room was more spacious, very spacious by Tokyo standards. Same comfy beds and helpful friendly staff. The location was good - very close to station on the Oedo line which runs across to the east side for Asakusa and Ueno, as well as being close to the west side neighbourhoods. The immediate neighbourhood was office towers and tall hotels, but plenty of services and close to livelier parts of Shinjuku as well.
The location is right in the middle of Shibuya and right next to Meiji-dori which makes walks to Harajuku much more accessible. My room had spectacular views and could see Shinjuku, skytree tower and even tokyo tower from another window. I also loved all of the dining options near the hotel. If you're feeling american - eggslut on the 2nd floor. if you're feeling japanese, then there are many options on the third floor of the mall that's connected to the hotel. Location wise, you can't beat Sequence.
Our planned hotel canceled our reservation the night before our arrival date, so the Hotel Rose Garden was a last minute booking. We had two choices for Shinjuku hotels on such short notice, and we thought the novelty of bunk beds for my husband and I would be fun. The location of the hotel is probably the best part of it, as it's only one metro stop away from the main Shinjuku area, but it feels like a world away with how quiet the actual area is. The staff was also very helpful.
Rooms were large for Tokyo hotels and had a bathtub (we stayed in the South Wing), and housekeeping was good. It has two lines next to it including the less crowded Tochomae station on the Oedo line. Better than Shinjuku. There’s a decent Komeda’s cafe opposite the back entrance where we ate at twice and more eateries are about 5 minutes’ walk away. We liked that the limo bus stopped right at the hotel and that tour agencies picked up guests at the hotel too.
We chose to have single rooms which after a long flight meant better sleeping for all of our family members. The single rooms are small, but reasonable, the bed is hard - which I don't like, but my husband does - but a good size. The staff were very helpful, especially considering our lack of Japanese. Close to the Tokyo Station. Very clean. I'd describe this hotel as a business hotel, one where businesspeople stay over night when in Tokyo for work.
The hotel staff was so helpful. I had to check in on my own without my husband and had a few luggages and a toddler with me. The staff proactively offered me help with the luggages and accompanied me to my hotel room. The room was modern and clean and surprisingly quiet given that it's so close to the airport! Plenty of food and shop options around the hotel as well, which made it convenient to get last minute souvenirs etc.
Great location, great staff, comfy rooms and clean facilities. The lunch menu at Bellustar restaurant was awesome, simply delicious. The hotel is on Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, where you also have Bandai Namco Tokyo, an awesome food hall with live music and great food, as well as bars and restaurants. Close to the Shinjuku station as well. All around, I would definitely visit again. Thanks for everything!
Very convenient for the haneda airport limousine. Not very convenient for travel into many of the parts of Tokyo, but I enjoyed Odaiba, Harajuku & Shibuya with travel times of around an hour. I was extremely impressed by the cleanliness & interior design of the location. In terms of modern hotels, it was the most beautiful I stayed at during my trip. The staff was also extremely kind and helpful.
Great view of parks and Olympic stadiums from the 12th floor room with balcony. Excellent modern furnishings and hotel amenities (spa, fitness, laundry). Staff were very professional and helpful (we arrived after midnight and the front desk was still open to check us in). Quiet neighborhood with close access to subway and train stations making travel to Shibuya/Shinjuku/Meguro fast and easy.
Perfect location for enjoying Sakura as the hotel grounds had beautiful gardens, water features, lit up trees and decoration for the Sakura season. It was so stunning - both on the ground level and view from the rooms.
Location is a bit far from the main busy areas of Shinjuku abd Shibuya but easy to get to thr train and go any which direction.
Japanese breakfast buffet was lovely too.
The location is perfect. It was the best decision we made to choose asakasa over shibuya. It’s 5min walk away from the Tokyo metro station (G and Z line). The place is surrounded of affordable (local price) restaurants. Also, there is a nearby park from the hotel. We also loved the open bar and open drinks at the lobby as well as the cheap laundry machines. Not to forget the Onsen. 🥰
The apartment is definitely bigger size compared to APA hotels or any business hotels in the Shinjuku or Shibuya down town.
Me and my family felt way more comfortable here!
Heater works perfectly fine in winter time and all the amenity we needed was here too.
A Lovely safe local neighborhood and lots nice cafe and restaurants near by.
Close to MRT Hatsudai station on foot
This hotel serves the best service and best room for my stay in Tokyo. I had been at another 2 hotels in Shibuya and Shinjuku but Richmond Hotel is the best. lobby is at the 5th floor and there are uniqlo and other food store downstairs. JR and Metro station is just in walking distance. Free VOD for you to enjoy.
A brilliant location. Shinjuku is great to explore with plenty of shopping, restaurants and night life. The hotel is close to the main train station and near a beautiful park and a lovely shrine. The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was varied and good quality.
Very confient, the location of the hotel is perfect! Just a small walk from Shibuya Station and the center of Shibuya.
De hotel staff is very helpful and is super friendly. Clean towels every day, and the capsules were comfortable.
Overall, it was a good stay!
Staff was very good and helpful, location of hotel is very good as i wanted. Tokyo station area is much better option for me, shinjuku and shibuya is very crowded and busy, only 10min walk to station for yamonate line and shinkansen. Overall, very good.
The hotel is in a great location that is accessible through train or bus via 5-10min walk. The transit system is top notch and we were always a few minutes away from downtown shinjuku or shibuya. Great spot.
It's so cheap. It's nice to stay to in capsule hotels like this because you wouldn't have to be lying down all day. This will force you to check out all the tourist spots in Tokyo.
It’s two min walk from the oedo line and one stop away from sensoji. It’s also relatively quiet compared to hotels nearer to the big stations such as shinjuku and ueno.
